AYIMBA AND TANK SHOULD MAKE WAY FOR KENYAN RUGBY TO GROW

It is not that am unthankful for the work both have done and the sacrifices they have had to make for the sport I love so much, more so for Ayimba. Yet in life there comes a time when one has to give way so as to allow the things they hold dear to grow and reach heights they themselves could not have help them reach. The two have given us their best and should step aside for the likes of Strath's Mitch in sevens and Quin's Kiyanyi to take us to the next level as we aim to make it to RUGBY WORLD CUP 2015 and OLYMPICS 2016. If the two do not make way only KENYAN RUGBY will suffer from a dream defured. Am told change is as good as new and we need just that in our rugby.

THE FUTURE OF RUGBY IN KENYA

As the popularity of the game increases due to the exploits of our national seven-a-side team we must not forget that sevens isn't the main version of the game and for use to be called a rugby nation we should improve and pay attention in 15's. we have focused on sevens at the expense of 15s.
It is a fact that we will be watching the world cup in New Zealand next year from the sidelines but as we watch the matches let us put our sights in qualifying for the one to be held in 2015. Going by the humiliation we were given by Mpalanga there is a lot we have to work on.
Over the just ended season there was an emergance of young and very talented players in all the clubs.
These young players should be mentored for the next four years and give adequate preparation to
make mistakes, learn from them and correct them as they lead us to the world cup 2015.
The idea of sticking with the same players because we are afraid of giving the young and untested a chance is what leads to lack of improvement in our game since the veterans are not being put under pressure to work hard to retain their jerseys least someone replaces them.
The mantle is not only for krfu but also the clubs who should be scouting for talent and then nurture them to become the very best.
Kenya can only go to the next level in playing rugby if the union, clubs and sponsors work together with the players to make rugby professional.

THE RED LION WILL ROAR AGAIN

Situated along ngong road at jamuhuri park is the home of kenya's oldest rugby club. a number of years have passed with the lion failing to roar with the just concluded kenya cup season being their lowest point yet but as my grandparents taught me never see a lion that has been rained on and mistake it for a cat. The rains has been beating us for far to long but not any longer. With the kick off for the new season months away kenyan rugby is set for a new champion since it is most dark just before just before dawn.
